Ken Baker Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
In 2019, the ASPL Board of Directors created the Ken Baker Memorial Student Scholarship in memory of Ken Baker, a long time ASPL member, a giant in the Pharmacy Law field, and a mentor to so many ASPL members. The purpose of the scholarship is to support students in pharmacy and pharmacy law to attend the annual ASPL Developments in Pharmacy Law Seminar where they will: 1) attend up to 15 hours of continuing education sessions; and 2) network with industry professionals from across the country.
ASPL funded and awarded the inaugural scholarship to two pharmacy students in 2020. During the 2020 Annual Business Meeting, ASPL Board President, Mike Podgurski, announced the creation of the Ken Baker Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund which will fund future scholarships for years to come. The ASPL Board of Directors approved a $10,000 initial investment for the fund as well.
Starting in January 2021, organizations and individuals wishing to contribute to this honorable cause, can make tax-deductible contributions to the Ken Baker Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund through ASPL. The fund is managed by ASPL with oversite from the ASPL Finance Committee and Board of Directors. All contributions are 100% tax deductible.
